A child living with epilepsy and seizures can present a challenge for parents. faces is here to help.Below is a list of resources:
- Visit the Pediatric Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. The Program specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children with epilepsy and is committed to providing multidisciplinary care, recognizing that a child with epilepsy and his or her family often have complex and diverse problems that can not be solved by a single person.
- Download a copy of the "Peace of Mind Packet." This information packet designed by parents for parents, has been developed to answer some of the general questions you may have prior to your stay. As always, please consult your physician for more information regarding your child's care.
- Listen to the Parent's Forum. Moderated by Dr. Daniel Miles, Director of Pediatric Epilepsy at the NYU Langone Medical Center. This event was held at our annual Epilepsy Conference on Sunday October 26th, 2008.
- Join the Parents Network. The parent networking program is designed to connect parents with parent mentors that have experienced similar issues when dealing with a child who suffers from a chronic illness. Whether it’s the hospitalization process, educational services or social support resources, the added benefit of speaking to another parent that has lived through this experience can be quite valuable.
