2009 faces Lemonade Challenge - Let's Get Started !
The first step is for you and your parent to fill out the Sign-Up Form and send it back to us. We will then mail you your full information package.
Here are some tips and guidelines for a great Lemonade Challenge:
You want to raise a lot of money for faces, right? Put your stand in a place where lots of people walk by - it can be in your front yard, near your school, church, temple, local supermarket or little league field. Or try a few different locations and see what works best for you. Make sure it's a safe place and your parents give you permission to be there.
Use the power of advertising. Wear the colorful faces tee-shirt we sent you. When people ask what “faces” means, you can say that you’re helping a child with epilepsy get a summer camp scholarship next year. And don’t forget to hang the big blue lemonade pitcher flyer on your stand.
Make copies of the advertising flyers (with the lemon and small blue pitcher in the middle) and put them in your neighbor’s mailboxes, hang them on bulletin boards or have your brothers and sisters pass them out as people walk by. REMEMBER to fill in the date and location of your sale so people know where to go.
Find a terrific recipe for the lemonade you will sell. Want to earn a few more dollars for faces? Then why not make some cookies or brownies with your mom or older siblings and sell them with the lemonade? Eating a good cookie can make someone double thirsty – don’t you think?
Take pictures of you and your customers at your stand. If you’re the winner of the Lemonade Challenge, we want everyone who reads the faces Newsletter to see you in action. And write down some of the funny stories that happened or anything else you think will be interesting to read about.
The Challenge begins on July 4th and ends on Labor Day – September 7th. Don’t forget to use the Tally Sheet to tell us how much you raised over the summer. Mail us your Tally Sheet and ask your parents to send a check to faces for the total amount you collected no later than September 14th. Please do not send cash as it can get lost
And don’t forget to call 646-558-0827 or write to us at facesinfo@nyumc.org if you need some advice or more information.
